Scientific Committee
The Scientific Committee (SC) is the governing body of CROP and provides guidance in all aspects of the Programme. It is composed of recognized academic authorities in the field of poverty research, appointed by the University of Bergen and the ISSC. They are appointed on the background on academic achievements and to represent geographical regions and disciplines.
The SC is the main body formulating the overall scientific concepts and scientific goals of the Programme, as well as for organizing the required coordination of research efforts.
The SC meets at least once a year, provides the sponsors with annual reports and budgets and helps in the well-functioning of the Secretariat.
The commencement meeting for the current Scientific Committee was held in at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, September, 2009. The 2010 meeting will take place in Bergen in May.Atilio Borón
