Isabel Ortiz is UNICEF Associate Director of Policy, Advocacy and Knowledge Management.

She has 18 years experience working in over 30 countries in various areas of economic and social development. She was educated in Spain and the UK, where she attained a Master degree and a Ph.D. from the London School of Economics. From 1995-2003, Isabel worked at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), where she was founding member of its Poverty Reduction Unit, to later become Senior Advisor at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) in New York.
