PUBLICATION: As one of the partners in the WSSF programme, CROP is happy to announce the publications from the first two seminars held.

October 2015

The World Social Science Fellows Programme aims to foster the next generation of leaders in social sciences.

CROP was involved in the organisation of the first WSSF Seminar in partnership with ISSC and IHDP. The event took place in in March 2013  in Quito, Ecuador, and was hosted by the Andean University of Simon Bolivar (UASB).

Through the interdisciplinary and original research of a new generation of urban researchers across the global South and North, the resulting book Untamed Urbanisms addresses old debates in new ways and raises new questions about sustainable urban Development. 

Untamed Urbanisms is now available as Open Access, edited by Adriana Allen, Mark Swilling and Andrea Lampis.

CROP was also one of the partners in the second WSSF seminar, held in November 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan, with IRDR-ICoE, Academia Sinica, National Taipei University, ISSC and IHDP. The resulting book, Dialogues of Sustainable Urbanisation: Social Science Research and Transitions to Urban Contexts, focuses on sustainable urbanisation and the contribution of social science research to sustainable urban futures,

Dialogues of Sustainable Urbanisation is now available for download, edited by Jenna Condie and Anna Cooper. More information about the book can also be found on the ISSC website.
