Medicine for the 99 percent

Medicine for the 99 percent

INTERVIEW: Prof. Thomas Pogge, Chair of the CROP Scientific Committee, presents a proposal to change the way medicines are developed and sold to the poor.

September 2011

Can we incentivize companies to produce much-needed drugs? At TEDxCanberra, Thomas Pogge proposes a $6 billion plan to revolutionize the way medications are developed and sold.

TED is a nonprofit conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design.  Along with two annual conferences -- the TED Conference in Long Beach and Palm Springs each spring, and the TEDGlobal conference in Edinburgh UK each summer -- TED includes the TEDTalks video site, the Open Translation Project and TED Conversations, the TED Fellows and TEDx programs, and the annual TED Prize.
