Curbing Illicit Financial Flows: The Post-2015 Agenda and International Human rights

Curbing Illicit Financial Flows: The Post-2015 Agenda and International Human rights

The Hague Institute for Global Justice Policy Brief no. 8, by Jill Coster van Voorhout, Tessa Alleblas and Ting Zhang.

The policy brief has resulted from a roundtable on the same topic held at The Hague Institute for Global justice on 21 November 2013, as well as supportive research that has been conducted.

The authors have taken a comprehensive approach to illicit financial flows at the intersection of peace, security and justice, by combining perspectives of conflict prevention, rule of law, and global governance.

The resulting recommendations, aimed at policymakers, business representatives, and “facilitators” of illicit financial flows such as lawyers and accountants, are on the incorporation of the rule of law in the post-2015 agenda and on the curbing of illicit financial flows using human rights obligations and responsibilities.
