CIH/CISMAC Sustainability Science Seminar

SEMINAR on Sustainability Science for PhD candidates within the framework of the CIH/CISMAC Research School

October 2018

​A two-day seminar for PhD candidates at CIH/CISMAC (Centre for International Health / Centre for Intervention Science in Maternal and Child Health) focussing on Sustainability Science will take place in October 2018 within the framework of the CIH/CISMAC Research School. The event will consist of two lectures:

  • Sustainability Science: a tool to address Global Challenges (24 October 2018, 13:00-16:00) – the lecture will introduce Sustainability Science and explain its meaning for addressing main global challenges in accordance with the UN initiative "Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development".
  • Sustainability Science Applications: Climate Services (31 October 2018, 13:00-16:00) – this lecture will put focus on providing a basic understanding of climate change and its impact at regional and global levels, along with introducing so-called Climate Services, developed in order to give an actionable climate information to the society.​

Noel Keenlyside, Geophysical Institute, UiB

Both seminars will start with a lunch at 12:30 and they will take place in Meeting Room 240 at ​the Centre for International Health, Jekteviksbakken 31, Bergen.

There will be assigned work to complete between the two seminars, which will add up to 1 ECTS for participants who attend both days.
