This book focuses the relation between two central ideas: life conditions and social exclusion. These are examined and discussed in relation to their original character. Further, they are contrasted with traditional modalities and concepts and similar social situations, in particular those oriented to study people living in situations of larger cultural and material deprivation. The book aims to contribute to fortify conceptual elaborations and design of new theoretical paradigms, as well as the analysis of specific situations and in many cases (given the existence of appropriate social state policies) may serve as a foundation for development of social- and economic public policies to increase people‟s well being.
