Georges Midre is Professor, Department for Sociology, University of Tromsø (UoT).

Professor Midre was the Institutional Leader for the Institute of Social Sciences, (UoT) between 2006 - 2009. He's research interests involve indigenous peoples and challenges concerning their rights, resources and knowledge. Other works include Health Service research.
