The Centre for International Health at the University of Bergen (UiB), Norway, has worked with colleagues at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences and Occupational Safety and Health Authority in Tanzania to create an online course for health personnel all over the world — with the purpose of improving the health and life of workers in developing countries.

Target group:
The course is at Master level, but other students can also benefit from the information. This course is open to anyone, although previous degree level studies in medicine, dentistry, health sciences or natural sciences, as well as a good knowledge of English, will be helpful.

About the course:
The course lasts for six weeks and will teach you a basic knowledge of occupational health and how to prevent the development of diseases and injuries caused by working conditions in developing countries.

Universities can include the MOOC in a course curriculum and make it part of a local credit-giving course. At the University of Bergen, students can achieve 3 ECTS by taking a formal exam after completion of the MOOC.
